The Penguin Chillers 7500 BTU Cold Therapy Chiller is a high-performance, USA-made system designed to maintain consistent cold plunge temperatures without the need for ice. Built for both beginners and experienced users, this chiller delivers powerful cooling performance, allowing you to transform any cold plunge setup into an efficient, iceless recovery system.

With its 7,500 BTU/hr cooling capacity, this unit provides reliable temperature control for ice baths, barrels, and cold plunge tubs.

Iceless Cold Plunge Performance

Traditional ice baths require constant ice replenishment, making them time-consuming and inconsistent.

The Penguin Chillers system eliminates this problem by:

• maintaining stable water temperatures
• removing the need for ice purchases
• enabling more frequent and consistent use
• simplifying your cold therapy routine

This allows users to focus on recovery instead of setup.

Powerful 7,500 BTU Cooling Capacity

With 7,500 BTU/hr, this chiller is designed to efficiently cool water in a variety of cold plunge setups.

Performance highlights:

• reaches low 40°F range under most conditions
• capable of reaching high 30°F range with optimal setup
• maintains consistent temperatures over extended use

External conditions such as sunlight and ambient temperature will influence cooling performance, but proper setup ensures optimal results.

Designed for Real-World Conditions

Cold plunge performance is heavily influenced by environmental factors.

Key considerations:

• direct sun exposure increases heat load
• shaded setups improve cooling efficiency
• insulation helps maintain lower temperatures

With proper setup, this system can maintain low to mid 40°F temperatures even in less-than-ideal conditions.

Plug-and-Play Setup with Included Components

The Penguin Chillers 7500 BTU system is designed for straightforward installation with all essential components included.

Setup includes:

• quick connect fittings for easy installation
• pre-configured tubing and connectors
• filtration system to maintain water cleanliness

This allows users to get up and running quickly without complex modifications.

Built-In Filtration System

The included filtration system helps maintain clean water during repeated use.

Filtration features:

150-micron washable and reusable filter
• inline filtration to capture debris and particles
• easy maintenance and cleaning

This ensures a cleaner and more hygienic cold plunge environment.

Cost to Run (lower than most expect):

At $0.12/KWh the monthly cost of operation should be around $18-$28/month.  The compressor and fan only turn on when cooling is needed, once the water reaches your set point they turn off and only the low wattage pump continues to run.

A common question we get revolves around setting the chiller up on a timer. Ideally, you’ll want to keep the water cold at all times. There are a few reasons for this –

  1. Cold water keeps bacteria (slimy walls) largely under control by slowing or stopping their growth.  This significantly reduces the amount of maintenance needed to keep your water clean for longer periods of time.   This means less frequent water changes and that much lower levels of sanitizer being an effective doses (chlorine/hydrogen peroxide/etc).
  2. If you are using it on a regular basis the amount of potential power savings will be fairly insignificant, the heat it would gain in the “off” period still needs to be removed when you turn it back on. So, if running is normally cost $18-$28/month you might be able to save $3-$5/month. However, you will have to change water and the filter more often, so it is unlikely to be a net cost savings.
  3. When you cut power to the chiller you also cut power to the pump.  Pumps get the most wear and tear during startup, that’s when a pump is most likely to fail as well. Cycling the power to the chiller is just adding unnecessary wear and tear to the pump.

We do not recommend putting the chiller in an area that cannot get wet as the chiller, along with the tubing, will produce condensation.

In any application that requires a water chiller, strong flow is crucial. If you have some flow throughout the system, but not enough, water will freeze inside of the chiller.

Damage caused by slow flow throughout the system due to improper setup or maintenance will not be covered under the manufacturer warranty.

*Please note your setup needs to gravity prime to the pump, the pump is not capable of self priming/suction.   Place the chiller within 3′ of the drain of your tub, the bottom of the chiller should be at the same or lower height compared to the bottom of your tub – do not elevate the chiller above the tub.  An overly long tubing run from the tub drain to the chiller inlet may cause the pump to fail to move enough water.
